I am happy to announce the lineup for this year's Metal Massacre festival - This is going to be a very special gig as it's Displacement's 5th BIRTHDAY party. Displacement have been at the front of the Bolton music scene for a long time alongside bands such as Strain, Burn This Earth and ATG, and have established themselves accross the North West and beyond with a solid reputation.
The list of bands is of a very high standard and there are some very talented acts booked to play, ranging from extreme death metal to catchy melodic rock.
THE BANDS:

Thrashy metal mixed with strong melodies, adrenaline, rapid drums, fierce guitar attack and aggressive vocals. Prepare for an onslaught of powerful music, a very energetic live show and of course a drunken mosh fest in the pit!

stomping metallic hardcore from the land of Wales, these guys crank things up a notch and blast out some proper catch riffing mixed with powerful breakdowns. Rumour is that Dave has returned on vocals!

A five piece alternative/hardcore band with an eclectic mix of fast punky riffs, big dirty breakdowns and all the energy of the fiery young passionate people who make it up. Silver Medal Massacre have a sound and live show that will blow you away!

These guys rule! They have a very focused sound and a jaw-dropping level of musicianship. Their latest CD, " 'Their Sprawling Bodies Imperfectly Embalmed" is technically their most proficient to date and throughout its conception was intended to be a journey through many degrees of progression, firmly anchoring itself as the new superbeast of sound that is Neandertahl's signature style. Combining shredding guitars and melodic vocals, Defiant write very tuneful music that is sure to catch your ear. Their sound is comparable in parts to TRIVIUM, DISTURBED and IRON MAIDEN.

These guys play a great mix of Hardcore and Death metal, they are very heavy and have an intelligently written sound of their own. Fuelled by anger, aggression, opinions and beliefs, they are here to speak out for those people who feel ignored, cheated and failed by todays System

3 parts Farnworth, one part Manc - Scum! Pure Scum who enjoy making no nonsense Heavy Metal/Hard Rock with a southern metal groove. Influences include CORROSION OF CONFORMITY, DOWN, , ORANGE GOBLIN and RAGING SPEEDHORN.

Low tuned death-metal inspired Thrashers, featuring ex-members of IOAF, BLUDGEONED and MOCM. According to their myspace, they sound like "Amon Amarth and Arch Enemy having a brawl amongs a pool of whiskey, ale and cider".

The venue is very easy to get to from wherever you are as it is close to major bus, train and motorway routes. The train station is not even 5 mins walk from the venue, and the M60 ringroad is just 5 - 10 mins drive, leading to the M61 and M62.
