So this is the grand idea that I mentioned yesterday in the May Madness thread. A year long, weekly or bi-weekly country to country face off between competing nations lesser known acts. 32 Countries, 4 bands per country, 1 awesome ride. This first round will be a test run to see how much interest is garnered.

Good idea! However, I don't see why it needs to be "lesser known acts". Personally, I just don't have the time to check out all 8 of these bands (haven't heard any of them) so probably won't take part much.

The whole point is to discover and discuss new bands, all while having a fun little country based tournament thrown in for kicks. March Madness meets the reco threads. If you don't have time, make time. Give up the "write anything you want" thread and click the links inbetween ironing your shirts.

I fully support the idea behind this thread, although I've only heard one of the eight bands represented here (Scavenger, awesome track), there's more to both countries than Summoning and Primordial...

I do...well...an mp3 copy of it. I highly enjoy it. Geasa is a really great Irish Primordial clone band.
