In a big building
anyone here like any metalcore stuff? i really like the black dahlia murder and between the buried and me. Discuss this often hated fusion of metal and "hardcore"

few of As I Lay Dying songs are good.
Music videos for them are good too.
Still Remains, Mortal Treason are ok too.

imo for a victory records band i consider BTBAM is straight up american death
metal with a touch of the european sound to it esp. thier S/T cd and Alaska.
and the tune Mordecai off of The Silent Circus cd fits in that mold as well.
There is probably only a handfull of metalcore acts i can listen to like The Zimmerman Note, Killswitch Engage (yeah i said that shit fuck you), Sinai
Beach(ironic because their x-tian and i hate most x-tian music), Earth Crisis (RIP) and some deathcore like Despised Icon and Amongst The Swarm some
of it if done right is pretty good but then again i grew up listening to punk
music as well as metal so im a bit more opened minded to musical tastes.
The only exception is that goddamn girlpant, bandanna wearing emofashioncore fag army
garbage like darkest hour, AILD, Avenged Sevenfold, AFI bullshit that imo
is polluting the metal and punk scene right about now.

I don't consider The Black Dahlia Murder to be Metalcore cause I don't see any hardcore influences in them. I also consider BtBaM to be Technical Metal.

But yes, I like Metalcore very much. Let's enjoy this thread before we get "pwned".

lol. Well I consider them to be Death Metal also. I mean, they don't have breakdowns or anything that signifies Hardcore.

God Forbid

God Forbid is the shit. Awesome screaming.

yeah, influenced by at the gates... but only if you count slaughter of the soul and up.

things that sound like slaughter of the soul are not metalcore.

at the gates did not influence metalcore in any conceivable way.

black dahlia murder is not metalcore by any stretch of the term.

listen to The Chariot.

The Chariot is amazing metalcore with actual -core influence

Between the Buried and Me
Ion Dissonance
Mortal Treason
Underoath (The old stuff. They used to be very heavily death metal influenced..not anymore obviously)
The Chariot
Converge

The only metalcore band that I still like is Unearth. I think As I Lay Dying is alright though.

LOG are ok, I'm sure they are good live they always seem to be.

I dont know why people think BDM are metalcore, I see them as melodical death, the singers voice, the dual guitars on their eps, subject matter everything. Maybe its they dont look the part? I hate people who dont like them because they have short hair, its ridiculous.
