Metallic-duh.

And 3 hours drive? Lightweights, I know people who hop the entire US as well as cross the oceans for concerts... ;)

-Metal

Those people are STUPID! :goggly:

“Their last concert (in Portland), they were kind of weak,” said Garcia, 43, of Milwaukie, Ore. “This time I think the crowd let them down instead of them letting the crowd down. The crowd, I think, was a little bit old.”

“There was no pit, dude!” he added, incredulously. “Weak!”

Really, 43 year old dude? 'Weak'? Really? I hope I don't have to borrow another generations buzz words... especially if they're that bad.

“And if James Hetfield would sing a little bit more like he used to,” added Tony. “It’s alright to be somewhat of a (melodic) singer. But if it’s clean the whole time, there’s no power to it. There’s no rasp, so to speak. It’s garbage.”

Yah, cause James Hetfield should be young for ETERNITY. After all, singing and touring for 25 years should never take a toll on his vocal cords. Jackass.

Yeah 3 hour drive? If I'm not mistaken people on this board could do 3 hours in their sleep. I know for a fact there are people that drove from Minnesota, Michigan, and Illinois in years past. And we are talking 12 hours ONE WAY!!! Like you said Metalrose! Lightweights!!!!

“It was absolutely amazing. And I couldn’t believe the fans. I’ve never seen fans get into a band the way that these fans did.”
I don't think they have ever been to a show for a prog/power band ever.

“Metallica sucks,” said Kelsay, suggesting she might become a fan again “if they kicked Lars out of the band.”
Only thing in this whole article I couldn't agree with more.

I agree with that by 10000 fold...

Lars and Hatfield, hell just replace the whole band..... ;)

I will say what Andy Sneap said on his forum, although jokingly, but I agree with him, bring back Mustaine and put Kirk on bass. But, I would add, replace Lars with, about damned near anybody, he is very easily replaceable. Get Matt Heafy on vocals, and just get a supergroup of people to play metallica songs, and we are set, and get rid of the whole band, and have a cover tour that will kick the shit of Metallica.

why do that, just go to a megadeth show, at least they are still putting out decent stuff. metallica are just a shell of themselves now, and to be honest i think they were over rated from the beginning anyways, they had like 3-4 solid albums. maiden will always be theband to represent the pinnacle of metal music in my mind.

Agreed.

And yes....a three hour train ride, no less.
I can't say much, because I slept for the majority of the road trip from IL this past ProgPower, but a three hour train ride in no way compares to a 12 hour drive in the back seat of a GTI.

3 hours to a show?

Meh.

Why, back in the day, we used to roadtrip up to New Yawk City to see Dream Theater.
In the snow.
Both ways.
With a driver from Florida!

(for you oldtimers, that was the infamous YtseCon II roadtrip, where, amazingly, we didn't die.)

I was at a JOP show outside of Tampa, FL. I had driven 15 hours fron Houston, TX and I thought THAT was far. There were two dudes that had driven from CANADA (can't remember where)!! THAT's loyalty!!

Chris

That's hard core loyalty for sure! I wish that I had driven down to Tampa for the Criss Oliva tribute show a few years back. If they do another one, I'll do it.

Will sombody please let me know when the album that should have been released after "And Justice" finally sees the light of day?

Biggest metal letdown ever!

3 frigging hour drive, that is nothing, as most have said here. My daughters and I have done Two 7 hour drives and one 13 hour, and a 4 hour drive to see Nightwish.

Then look at ProgPower, most everyone is from out of town, and lots of them drive, and while most fly it is still longer for most of us than the 3 hours they drove for who was it again....... oh yeah and the old people

LAMEST QUOTE OF THE STORY...

I don’t necessarily know that the new guy, (Robert) Trujillo, is as good as (departed bassist) Jason Newsted. But he’s got his own little style.
