Tour Name: M72 World Tour

North American Tour Dates: April 19 – June 29

Ticket sales for North American dates on the Metallica M72 World Tour are now underway with 20 concerts in 13 cities scheduled in North America. The Tour is in support of the group’s 11th studio album 72 Seasons.

The M72 Tour was scheduled to resume in 2025 with a first show with Linkin Park, Queens of the Stone Age and Evanescence at the Sick New World Festival in Las Vegas on April 12, but that show was cancelled by promoter Live Nation due to “unforeseen circumstances” including poor ticket sales and costly logistical concerns.

The first show is now at the JMA Wireless Dome in Syracuse, New York on Saturday, April 19 and you can find tickets here at TicketX for as low as $106.70. Suicidal Tendencies, and Pantera will back up Metallica. The tour then heads to Canada for two shows at the Rogers Centre in Toronto (April 24, April 26) where **2-day pass tickets** are available for Thursday’s and Saturday’s shows with Limp Bizkit and Ice Nine Kills the backup acts.

Metallica then heads to **Nashville,** Tennessee for two dates on May 1 and May 3 at Nissan Stadium where you can buy a 2-day pass or individual show tickets. On Saturday, May 7, the Los Angeles rockers will stop in Blacksburg, Virginia for one night at Lane Stadium.

Next up are two shows (May 9, May 11) in Columbus, Ohio at the Sonic Temple Art Music Festival at Historic Crew Stadium where Metallica will be accompanied by Alice in Chains on Sunday. After that, it’s two dates in Philadelphia (May 23, May 25) where you can also purchase 2-day passes for the Friday and Sunday shows at Lincoln Financial Field.

On Wednesday, May 28, the M72 Tour heads to Northwest Stadium (Commanders Stadium) in Landover, Maryland (Washington, DC) for a single show followed by a night in Charlotte, North Carolina on Saturday, May 31 at Bank of America Stadium.

The tour then heads to Atlanta for a show at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome (June 1), then to Tampa and Raymond James Stadium for two concerts (June 6, June 8) where you can also get 2-day passes before going to NRG Stadium in Houston for a night (June 14).

Next up for the M72 Tour is Santa Clara, California and Levi’s Stadium for two shows (June 20, June 22) where you can also score **2-day passes** and see all four backup acts.

The US dates conclude with two shows on Friday, June 27 and Sunday, June 29—tickets as low as $91.30 are available—at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver where you can also find 2-day passes and see all five bands that weekend.

The seven cities that will feature two shows are all billed as “No Repeat Weekend” gigs where Metallica won’t play the same song twice.

Who Will be Playing with Metallica on the M72 Tour?

One great thing about this M72 World Tour is that besides getting to see Metallica, who have classic hits like One, Enter Sandman, Fade to Black, and Nothing Else Matters, is the chance to see these other five wonderful supporting acts.

Seattle rockers Alice in Chains will only be featured in the Columbus show (May 11) but Suicidal Tendencies and **Pantera** and Limp Bizkit and **Ice Nine Kills** will lead off the shows for the rest of the North American legs of the tour on specific dates.

In four cities—Tampa, Philadelphia, Santa Clara, and Denver—you can get 2-day passes for both shows and see all five of these acts in one weekend.

M72 World Tour England, Australia, and New Zealand Dates

After touring the US and Canada from April to June, the M72 World Tour—which began on April 27, 2024 in Amsterdam, Netherlands—heads across the pond to Birmingham, England for a single show on July 5 at Villa Park before taking a break for the summer.

The M72 World Tour then wraps up with two Metallica-only concerts at Marvel Stadium in Docklands, Victoria, Australia on Saturday November 8 followed by the finale at Eden Park in Auckland, New Zealand on Wednesday, November 19.

You can find tickets for the Australia show here and the New Zealand show here at TicketX where first-time buyers get 10% off using this special February promo code.

Metallica Band Members

  • James Hetfield (lead vocals, rhythm guitar)
  • Lars Ulrich (drummer)
  • Kirk Hammett (lead guitar)
  • Robert Trujillo (bass guitar)

How Long Are Metallica Shows?

The typical Metallica concert can be between 2 to 2½ hours but depending on the venue and situation may be even longer. With two backup acts on this M72 Tour and time needed for set-up between the acts, expect much longer shows in the 4-hour range.

At the group’s last shows in Mexico City, Mexico in September of 2024, Metallica played 18 songs, ending with One and Enter Sandman. The group opened up all three shows with a cover of the AC/DC classic It’s A Long Way To The Top (If You Want to Rock ‘n’ Roll).

Why is this a Must-See Concert?

No one knows exactly how much longer heavy metal legends Metallica will tour with all four band members over 60 years old now with co-founders Hetfield and Ulrich both 61, Hammett the senior member 62, and Trujillo age 60.

It’s true, some acts like The Rolling Stones, (Mick Jagger, 81 years old, Keith Richards, 81), Diana Ross (80), and The Godfather of Punk Iggy Pop (77) seem ageless and that they will be performing until they’re 100, but getting to see Metallica with other legendary groups like Pantera, Limp Bizkit, Suicidal Tendencies, Ice Nine Kills, and Alice in Chains is absolutely priceless.
