"Metallica Through The Never", filmmaker Nimród Antal's captivating 3D movie featuring one of music's most enduring and iconic bands, was screened last night (Wednesday, September 25) at the Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas. Red-carpet interviews and post-screening question-and-answer session with Antal and METALLICA members Kirk Hammett (guitar) and Robert Trujillo (bass) from last night's event can be seen below. Fantastic Fest is the largest genre film festival in the U.S., specializing in fantasy, sci-fi, action and horror films and is a truly unique and groundbreaking festival. Fantastic Fest is held each year at the Paramount Theater and the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, which was recently named the best cinema in the U.S. by Entertainment Weekly. METALLICA played two special gigs over the weekend in New York City: the first was Saturday night (September 21) at the legendary Apollo Theater in Harlem, where the band played an intimate show for around 1,500 fans in the small yet historic theater. The second event, on Sunday (September 22), took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, where the band came out to play "Enter Sandman" in honor of Yankees great Mariano Rivera, who is retiring at the end of this season. The closer, who holds the Major League record for most saves, has used "Enter Sandman" as his entrance music since 1999. After their performance in center field, METALLICA came down to home plate to present Rivera with a custom amplifier that read "Metallica 42 Sandman" in honor of the pitcher's uniform number. That day's opposing team, the San Francisco Giants, also gave Rivera a custom guitar designed by Kirk Hammett and signed by baseball legend Willie Mays. Red-carpet interviews:
