Metallica played the first show of their 2025 M72 Tour on Saturday, April 19th in Syracuse, New York at JMA Wireless Dome.
Unlike most of Metallica’s upcoming (and previous) tour stops, which are dubbed the “No Repeat Weekend,” Saturday’s performance was one-night-only. Usually, the band performs two shows per city, with each evening featuring a unique 16-song set.
According to Syracuse.com, more than 47,500 fans attended the concert. That breaks the former Carrier Dome’s previous all-time attendance record of 47,319, set by The Who in 1982. That also makes Metallica now the largest ticketed music event ever in the history of Syracuse, NY.
Metallica was able to pack the Dome thanks to the band’s circular stage setup on the Orange football field’s 50-yard line. Fans filled the seats around the entire stadium, and thousands more were standing on the floor around the stage and inside the “snake pit.”
Metallica’s setlist from April 19th in Syracuse, NY was as follows:
“Creeping Death”
“For Whom The Bell Tolls”
“Hit The Lights”
“King Nothing”
“Lux Æterna”
“Screaming Suicide”
“Kirk and Rob Doodle”
“The Day That Never Comes”
“Fuel”
“Orion”
“Nothing Else Matters”
“Sad but True”
“One”
“Seek & Destroy”
“Master Of Puppets”
“Enter Sandman”
