Metallica's soundcheck in Caracas pictures

did anyone else read this as "Metallica's soundcheck in Carcass"?

nice behind the scenes shots!

A few pictures from the end, it seems that the desk is wayy off centre.

Is it just the angle?

Big Mick doesn't need a centered desk :headbang:

I met him a few years back, when he was working with Gingers band the Wildhearts. Awesome dude.

wow, that's pretty far away from centre. He obviously knows the band and the system, but I figured he'd be picky about that sort of thing!

Just goes to show..

At my venue I mix directly in front of house left, not by choice though, it's just the way it was when I got there... and moving the desk/snake/outboard would be a huge pain in the ass.

yeah, I know what it's like.. I find it's sometimes worth the pain though (in the long run). If you're running in mono and the PA is doing 80% of the work - it's not too bad.

If it was me - I'd be making changes! :)

We don't run in mono. I choose to just walk the room, something an engineer should do anyways. The thing is, one, it's not a small desk (40ch Yamaha M3000), and we would have to build a new FOH booth in the middle of the venue. Just trying to get replacement drivers is a struggle for me, so asking to move the desk is pretty much out of the question...

Shiitt.. didn't realize it was a 40 channel desk.

yeah, that shit ain't easy to move / install.
