hey guys..never really posted here before but i've been a long time lurker who's learnt tonnes of stuff from this board.

anyhow, here's a mix i did from my band Meza Virs. it's called "Shadows of Oblivion" off our debut album "Vida Sacrificium Meum Est".

recorded and mixed the entire album myself, been doing demos and albums for awhile now but this is my first full length metal album of such magnitude..
comments/and or criticism would be much appreciated!

oh and if you like what you hear, there's a full album sampler available at www.myspace.com/mezavirs

thanx guys..thats the first time i've ever heard anyone say they didnt like the female vox, and a comparasion to grip inc heh..always great to hear new perspectives.

keith, what was it you didnt like?

about the guitars..guilty as charged. i'm a little disappointed with how they turned out..really should have quad tracked. that's 2 tracks of triaxis > mosvalve 962 > marshall AVT cab mic'd with a 57.

The two things that stick out for me is the kick and the guitars. The kick sounds a bit too clicky and hollow, like it's had the life sucked out of it. The guitars want to be good, but they just aren't all there. Maybe if there were a few less mids/ high mids and the guitars were turned up a bit they might have seemed a bit more fuller and crushing.
