I was always into Schenker, but in the past year or two I've become a big fan! Both UFO and MSG. I love his style. Somewhat bluesy, but very melodic and still catchy. He has great vibrato. Who's with me?

Some favorites:

Aww, I was trying to find the video of him playing pissed drunk (and stinkin' up the joint), but it seems to have been removed! DON'T THINK WE'LL FORGET MICHAEL!!!

But in all seriousness, I've really never listened to him - I'll check out those vids in a bit!

Haha yeah, I've seen those as well. The dude has a reputation of canceling shows, and the drinking thing etc. But when he's on, he's fucking ON!!! He has had to confront his demons for a while and is supposedly doing much better now. He's had it rough too. Supposedly he got divorced and the bitch sold a lot of his old gear and guitars and did a slew of other fucked up shit to him. Not saying the playing drunk thing was ok, but I can sympathize with the dude. Who am I to judge him anyway...don't know the dude personally.

Kickass player...\m/

I was at the rock and blues festival in Derbyshire a year or so ago, it was terrible to watch. I'm so glad he's got his shit together, one of the all time best in my book. I always say you are in a win win situation going to see him, what ever you get you'll end up talking about for years to come....

we were msg's support band back in 2006 and he was pretty messed up those days. he had his website where he put emails from his lawyers, ex-wife, band members etc. etc. people were asking him to get his shit together and he was talking about how everyone's againts him and bitching (really) like "noone understands me". then he decided to quit music business, shut down his web site, cancelled all the tour dates. after a month, his website returned online with a new design and all the emails, messages were gone. nd there was a new tour comin up. i felt really sorry for him.

i remember the youtube video where he screws up his tapping solo so bad (i think that was the one metaltastic meant in his post)

but i heard that he's okay these days. he's one of the greatest talents in heavy music. it'd be a shame if he gave up his music.

Oh and I must say I LOVE his classic Marshall tone. I might check him out in NYC this year...here's to hoping he's doing well. \m/
