Most if not all slipknot members were previously in death metal bands. Death metal is really technical.

Oddly if you find and listening to the debut slipknot album "Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat" Slipknot's a whole different band. Mixing influences from jazz fusion, death metal, hiphop, and more. Then ironically their original vocals left, corey taylor joined, they got a dj, sampler, etc and what was previously an experimental death metal band became another mainstream sensation. I'll never understand it.

Anyways yeah actually the members of slipknot are pretty talented. As proven in that video(if that video remains to be authentic), and Joey Jordison's drumming, as overrated as it is, is still pretty good for even a regular drummer. I think he and the bassist were also in anal blast. It's a huge mystery why slipknot changed their sound. Sellout? Possibly. Who knows. Who cares. Slipknot is an old dead issue. No one cares anymore.
