I've wanted a Ztar forever but those things are way too expensive, maybe these are more affordable, and they do seem kind of cool. Looks like they don't need any help either, they're nearly ten grand over the goal.

Oh nvmd, this was funded in July. Cool anyway

i dont have time to check it out right now but thank you for the link Sloan! i REALLY need a midi guitar and will check it out!

Looks and sounds like complete shit to me :ill:

I am curious though, what practical use is a MIDI guitar these days? What can you do with one that a normal guitar can't?

Some people that play guitar/bass just can't get along with a keyboard, so using a guitar to do things they want would make things easier. Such as creating piano/string/whatever MIDI tracks, for example. Personally I would be pretty interested in it if there was a way to use it to transcribe songs into GuitarPro or similar format. I'm not sure if it can be used that way, though, would be cool to have if that were possible.

Are you trolling?

I'd go for the yrg-pro but I'm still eagerly awaiting the fish man triple-play

Which is >* from the namm vids

i have the consumer-market yourock guitar, and it honestly has lots to improve. this one might be a lot better, but i'd have to wait for comments before giving it a second thought.

"sounds like shit".. since when has midi sounded like anything? you can play anything with this- from EWQL choirs to modeled guitars to Jeff's ballclaps. the idea is great, and even if you do use a midi keyboard, trying a guitar variant could help you think outside the box. i always find fresh ideas by doodling around with different instruments and tunings. don't be so quick to trash the idea just judging by the on-board sounds - the possibilities with this thing are much broader than that.

Cool, I must check how it compares to the first gen. 24 frets would really help though. In fact they've taken away a fret:mad:

These are fun and easy to use and it means I don't need to try and keep my keyboard chops and theory at transposing up for programming midi.

Yep it works with guitar pro and other midi/tablature software.

Nope, it was an honest observation from watching the kickstarter video, with an honest question after it.

As above, from what I heard and saw on the KS video it didn't exactly wow me. Thanks for the rundown though. Truth be told I still can't really think of any advantages of one of these over an 88-key controller, except if you wanted to play some bat-shit insane sweep arpeggios through a cello VSTi. That'd be cool.
