Anyone heard the song? I just heard it and it is def. the most experimental song Mike has been in.

I uploaded it on youtube if anyone wants to hear it.

It's kinda boring and doesn't use half of Mikael's potential as a singer :erk: They could've employed Steven Wilson aswell

He's getting better and better. I can't believe that he doesn't practise at all. On one hand, he's lost some of the pureness he use to have before.

Compare his clean vocals on Blackwater Park to those on Watershed.

actually, I believe you have a point but use wrong words.

His clean vocals are more pure in newer records especially watershed this is a FACT.

What you are talking about is the emotion and perhaps "natural" or "rawness" of his earlier cleans which you are absolutely right that they are.

Whether or not the old cleans are better is not for me to decide but compare for example MAYH to watershed and you'll hear a very obvious distinction in his cleans

Even if his clean vocals have improved, I still like his clean vocals on MAYH best. When and Closure are great examples. Just something about it, I can't explain.

he did have a cold during that recording though, so maybe a better comparison would be his cleans in Still Life. Either way, great vocal style.
