DEAD CROSS was forced to cancel its concert earlier tonight (Monday, August 21) at El Rey in Los Angeles, California after singer Mike Patton (also of FAITH NO MORE) was reportedly involved in a car accident on his way to the venue. After opening act SECRET CHIEFS 3 completed its set, about a half hour passed before guitarist Mike Crain and drummer Dave Lombardo (formerly of SLAYER) came out on stage to address the crowd. "There's been an accident," Crain said (see video below). "Mike was in an accident. It's not grave, but he's unable to be here tonight. He's hurt. So I'm sorry. We apologize. We're gonna reschedule. And tickets will be refunded at points of purchase." "On behalf of the band, we're really sorry," added Lombardo. He went on to say that he, Crain and the fourth member of this hardcore supergroup — bassist Justin Pearson — would be traveling to where Patton was located to be with the injured vocalist. DEAD CROSS was on the road supporting its self-titled debut album, which was released on August 4 via Ipecac Recordings.
