I remember reading somewhere that Dan is/was somehow involved with Swedish pop-punkers Millencolin? How was he involved? I used to be in love with that band!

He was sound engineer and had also a producing role as far as I know. He took care of the vocal harmonies if I remember right, and even sung some backing vocals (choirs).

Albums he was involved are "Life on a plate" and "For monkeys". Maybe more

Fox is such a good song! Pennybridge Pioneers was one of my favorite albums for years! That's interesting that he did back-up vocals, I have to re-listen to those albums and see if I can recognize him!

"Fox" is good! Damn i had the opertunity and fortune to see Millencolin live in Vitoriá, Brasil the past Saturday. It was a unreal!! As a Swede i couldn´t imagine they had such a dedicated crowd of fans in South America. The gig became a highlight! Mostly because of all nice and dedicaded fans i met. As an old Skate punk teenager i was suprised even bands as No fun at all was popular as well... *weird and unbelieveble* =)

I really used to like them ( I hardly ever listen to them anymore today). But only up to "For Monkeys". I've always wondered whether Dan was somehow involved with the writing proces. I think the sound dramatically changes when Dan wasn't involved anymore at all (everything after For Monkeys). My brother is really a Millencolin freak up till today.

Hey guys, today I figured something out :)
So I was listening to the Millencolin song "Puzzle" and I then I heard the word "Unisound" in there. Then I read the lyrics and Dan and his Unisound studio (where they recorded that time) is mentioned.

Millencolin - PUZZLE

Here we are again with another bunch of soft songs
maybe you are wondering why it took us so long
with a schedule tight, studiotime in sight
we have mostly been out touring
inspiration has been hard this time and honestly
I've had some problems with all these rhymes

We're under stress again, but it has always been that way
and once we get it right, then I know it's there to stay
We're under stress again, but we're used to all that now
it's always tough at first but somehow we always end up fine

Third album, less of ska and not so many fast ones
more of poppy, pushy songs, those that we do best now
nine to five at Unisound in January '97
we had the greatest time, with Dan as engineer

now the outcome is what you hear

If you're lonely or if you're happy
feeling swell or feeling blue, we might have a tune for you
it's about half of an hour, maybe less or maybe more
whatever it might be it's still softcore

It's a nice song and the lyrics are so funny. hrhr

I remember reading about that, "No Cigar" is a pretty damn fun song! I've been listening to that track for a looooong time, longer than almost all my music now, cool to hear Dan was involved!

Dan had a hand I believe in nearly all of the Millencolin material, as far as production goes...but that's just from looking at booklets and stuff and the singles I have were recorded with the help of Dan. He helps out with Farm's newest band as well (album comes in early 2007)...and even in the later albums Dan is in the thank you notes. But that's just from my own research, I am sure Dan could shed some light on more of it....

I think it's pretty simple. Dan recorded their first albums and demos, and he's just one hell of a guy who made a pretty good sound . A sound that was good enough to make it to a big release.
And that's so cool.

I'd find it interesting if they'd work together now with Dans new and fantastic sound engineer skills.
