Any of you guys tried this little amp? Despite not loving Rectifiers that much, I need an amp and it looks like it fits my needs perfectly (´low cost´- it costs a lot less than a mini 5153 here in Brazil), versatile, etc. But I really dont feel confortable with the grainy nature of the EL84s. So , how do you guys feel about it ?

Btw, I am deciding between it and a Egnater Rebel 30. I tried one this morning and it sounds amazing (if not a little on the dark side). However it lacks some low end punch (although it is way more punchy than a Tiny Terror, for example) and it is cheaper, but I still dunno.

Btw, see how it is funny how the import prices work. A Mark 4 is almost $1500 more expensive than a MinI Recto in Brazil even though they can be found for almost the same price on Ebay. Go figure..

Yep, but everything Ola touches sounds awesome ahha so I want other guys opinions :)

How much more are the 5150 50 watts where you are at? I have the 5150 50 watt and love it!! Seeing that you are not a recto fan to begain with and what I've heard from the mini recto, I would pay more to get the 5150. Its a lot more versatile, has great fender cleans and it sounds like the real deal.

The 5153 is like $1500 more here in Brazil. Absurd difference that I can not afford.

That Jet City JCA50 sounds pretty good from what I've heard, but that mini recto sounds thin and harsh from everything I've heard and im a recto fan.

I didn't think I'd like the Mini Recto, cause I hate most EL84 amps, and I dislike all the new Rectos... but I was pleasantly surprised. That little amp kicks some serious ass; I'd probably rather have it over the current production Single/Dual/Triple, especially since it costs much less.

i thought this sounded cool...then i saw the $1000 price tag! fuck that, you can get used rectos for that price all day long!

Guys, a Dual Recto here is even more absurd..around $1k more expensive than the mini and around $2k more expensive brand new.

yea they really fucked up on that one

seems like krank really started a trend with high-quality, lower-wattage high gain amps...but their shit runs around $600 new. the thought of putting down a solid grand on 25w of anything is pretty hard to swallow...

i can see how for guys outside of the USA, where mesa stuff is absurdly priced, the mini recto might make sense...but it's totally not worth the pricetag here in the states!

It will be once the hype dies down and it starts selling at a similar price to other $1000 amps (~$600 used). Sure, you can get a higher wattage Recto for a bit more, but at that price, it's pretty competitive to its competition.

Plus, it's kinda cute

yea, the only problem with trying to scour the used market is that you have to assume that enough people are going to want to pay the $1000 to start with, and then decide for whatever reason to get rid of

compare that to the 20w krank jr which i bought for $389 brand new...then sold to a forum member here for $300. he then sold that locally to another guy, who then put it on ebay, and now i bought it back from that dude for $275!

take into account that i originally sold the krank to get a 6505+ from a guy who was going into the navy for $350...and that puts me $625 in on both amps. i think i'd still take both of those over a used mini-recto!

You can always ask the seller/store to make invoice hiding the ´used´ or ´refurb´ part
