American grindcore act MISERY INDEX has entered the studio to begin recordings its new album for a spring 2014 release via Season Of Mist. Syas the band: "Adam (Jarvis) will start by tracking drums with Scott Hull (PIG DESTROYER) at Visceral Sound outside Washington D.C., and then the rest of the album will be recorded at Wrightway Studios in Baltimore, engineered by Steve Wright (DYING FETUS). "We expect tracking to wrap up in early January. "It is shaping up to be our longest and most diverse effort to date."MISERY INDEX released a live album, "Live In Munich", on February 19 (four days earlier internationally) via the French label Season Of Mist. The CD was recorded at Backstage in Munich, Germany on February 18, 2012 and it was made available as a hand-numbered die-cut LP, strictly limited to 500 copies worldwide.MISERY INDEX's latest CD, "Heirs To Thievery", sold around 1,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The effort landed at position No. 43 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200. Released in North America on May 11, 2010 via Relapse Records, the album was recorded at Wright Way Studios (DYING FETUS, SLIPKNOT, MOS DEF) with engineer Steve Wright.
