MISERY INDEX's music video for the song "Decline And Fall" can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's latest album, "Rituals Of Power", which was released in March via Season Of Mist The artwork for the disc was created by Raphael Gabrio. MISERY INDEX comments on the video: "All civilizations fall [and] decline and, in the present, its members grapple dually with the lamentation of its demise and the hopefulness of new beginnings. This is us expressing precisely that." Speaking about how "Rituals Of Power" compares to MISERY INDEX's previous albums, bassist/vocalist Jason Netherton told Metal Insider: "The last album, the work was a lot longer. It was almost 50 minutes. It was sweeping everything in there, a monolithic kind of lengthy work. And this one, definitely a lot more whittled down. It's a very tight, precise eight-song record. Even though it's a death metal record, it does lie a lot of conventional metal themes from old school metal and old school death metal to big courses, big hooks, and all of that stuff. The beat system was more refined, that's probably what pulled from that, I think, it's a little over thirty minutes, and makes a statement." On the topic of the lyrical themes covered on "Rituals Of Power", Netherton said" "A lot of it has to do with criticism on our everyday life. A lot of the things that are happening and the dark side of technology and our communication tool. It's what in itself of this so-called big news era. It's a wake-up call for civilization to take a look at where we're headed with how we communicate with each other. And what this means for bigger things like democracy and it's a thread which runs through all the songs on the record. Of course, different angles." MISERY INDEX will embark on a European tour with NAPALM DEATH and ROTTEN SOUND in February 2020.
