Mixing Queen "Bohemian Rhapsody"

These periodically get posted on different forums. This stuff is out there if you look for it. I don't really see a problem with it. Pretty amazing stuff to learn from. The track usage on "Bohemian Rhapsody" is insane. I can't imagine how long that must have taken.

I noticed the track setup is weird, I was sure a certain track was guitar then a fucking piano just kicks in out of nowhere! Make your damn mind up!! :)

maybe they sped up/slowed down the tape a little afterwards- heard of people doing that before when they felt a song was a little too slow or fast

Yeah, I know the Cars did that with My Best Friends Girlfriend and it's actually in F as a result.

There is some funny shit going on here - random isolated snare tracks in the middle of a vocal track, out of tune guitars like crazy, vocals popping in and out randomly, etc.

Right at the end of the piano track:
Fred- "Oh fucking he--"
Hell gets cut off.
These are great. thanks for the link up.

Amazing stuff much appreciated here as I get into music (then Metal) with Queen, and The Beatles is my favourite band of all times !!
It's like a dream come true coz I began recording by learning and analyzing a lot of Beatles songs and now I can do my own mix with these tracks, unbelievable !
I can't still imagine it right now, is it a dream or what ?

Don't you think it would be a good idea to post your mixes ?

Anyway, respect ...

Cool. Thanks for that :kickass:

While im not a big Queen fan its certainly interesting to hear what went into making the song and to hear the individual tracks by them selves
