Hey take it easy dude, nobody have the same tastes... people have the right to like the Odyssey or not, and prefer some other works of the band... That's great ppl can discuss their music tastes etc.

sorry guys.. you're right.. i'm overreacting a bit.. Bon Jovi ain't the worst band in the world either.. at least they still have solo's in every song. I'm sick 'n tired of all that nu-metal crap without a decent solo in a song!

I have never heard a Metallica song with a decent solo in it.

I'll have to agree with tha nu-metal thing...
Dado-x: I think the solo in'nothing else matters' is good although its been heard a million times. 'Master of Puppets' has a good solo at one point.

True. 'Nothing else' solo is pretty good. No wonder, since Kirk Hammet didn't play that one, hehe.

Just got the latest cd and have only listened a couple of times. I really like it. I just got into symphx about a year ago when I purchased the double live lp. In any event I think it's great and really like the overture on the title track. I love these metal overtures. Very powerful music. But I can't listen to it all day long. But I've listened to this one for two days now and nothing else. That says something...at least to me. I can see 'em this sunday night, but it's either the show or I play hockey with the boys and then drink....tough decision.

I definitely have to agree with that one. Anything good by Metallica was done by Hetfield.

I think the 'One' solo is more than decent..

The solo sections in all Metallica songs have allways been anti-climatic to me - just because Hammett is such a poor player. He has THE WORST vibrato I've ever heard.
