Monster Magnet?

I think they had a song on the radio in the 90's. I always just assumed they were just whatever. But I keep seeing them mentioned in reference to Stoner/Doom whatever.

So, are they worthy?

I love Monster Magnet. The early stuff like 'Spine Of God' and 'Tab' are drugged up, fuzzy, psychedelic albums. They've become more straightforward and accessible since then, but are still a really good band.
'Dopes To Infinity' is my favourite, a sci-fi tinged cross between Blue Oyster Cult, Hawkwind and Black Sabbath.
They're great live as well.

They're a fun band. They sing about sex, drugs, and rock n' roll (and some fantasy shit now and then). Nothing special, but cool to put on once in a while.

I could never get into this band, and I'm a fan of stoner rock generally. Something about their sound just doesn't do it for me at all.

I saw them live early this fall. They were awesome. Really good live performers and their songs are sooo atractive.

I think a lot of their stuff is really awesome musically, but lyrically it's awkward to the point of distraction, he just consistently churns out lines that...just don't *work*. IMO..
