Monte's list was a helluva lot better than the staff one that was posted on blabbermouth. Good to see some death metal being mentioned. RR really released some classics back in the day and all with killer artwork. Personal faves would be Immolation - Dawn of Possession, Gorguts - Erosion of Sanity, Pestilence - Testimony, Malevolent Creation - Ten Commandments.
On a side note, a new Disincarnate album would be incredible, really has been a long time since Dreams Of The Carrion Kind. I can remember buying that and At The Gates - With Fear I ...... on the same day, I was around 15 then
Out of curiosity, are you gonna self produce/engineer/mix the new one James?
Some of my favourite albums (and covers) of all time over there... OF ALL TIME!
I truly feel that the artwork (along with the lyrics and the theme, if the album has one), adds so much to the whole package and empower the music to another level. A band with great music and great artwork takes preference over a band who with great music but a lackluster cover. Of course, stuff like this is subjective, but when a cover appeals to me it just draws me so close to the album every time my eyes fall upon the CD rack and see it there.
