I've all ready selected next years hotel....ours was elegant and nice but too far away and what the hell was up with the " You can't bring that much alcohol into the room!" Next year...closer, pool, internet and breakfast every morning!!!

We should have invited you all down to the Hampton, it's actually pretty nice there. I thought the Residence has a pool? I guess not. Maybe we will stay at The Hampton Inn again next year. It's a little further then the Residence and Granada (about a half mile from Earthlink), but you seem to get a little more for your $$$. We paid $89 a night plus tax. Not to bad. I don't think any of the bands stay there though. Not quite as much partying either, but I'm not really sure because I crashed early every night. The staff seemed cool as well. The free parking is nice for us because we drive up. Anybody interested in trying to get a block of rooms for next year. We won't know the date of the show until spring, but it's never to early to start planning.

I don't know if the Residence had a pool or not. We didn't spend a helluva lot of time there. :D The free parking is definitely a bonus. I know the Residence was charging something like $18 a day. The Granada also charges.

I'd be interested in getting a block of rooms next year. We'll play it by ear until the dates are announced and then go from there. I don't know of a better way to get a big party going since the Fairfield is dead.

The courtyard Marriott on Techwood where the guys stayed had great rooms, pool, jacuzzi and breakfast every a.m. as well as internet access and a great lounge area. I'm thinking I'd like to stay there next year depending on prices

How close is that to the venue?

I'd say it's about half a mile. Mapquest gives driving directions so with the one way streets around there the backtracking adds a bit to their total.
