.... namely, Angela Gossow of Arch Enemy and Dave Suzuki of Vital Remains.

and a more ordinary guest... namely, me.

the track is called Opus Requiem, the closing track of Rise's forthcoming LP... "Pentagramnation"... Produced, Engineered, & Mixed by me.... just for you, ;)

check it HERE.

and then ADD 'em or DIIIIIIEEEEE!!!!!

fuking slays dude especially like the vocals and guitar solo, did you mic up an actual piano or was it keyboards or something?

Hey James, that sounds really good! Did you do all of the solo/harmony work in the end?
no, not at all.. i only did my own guest solo.. which is the first one... the second solo is Istvan of Rise.. he's really good... and the ending solo is Dave Suzuki of Vital Remains, who is quite a player as well.

Now that you mention it, the ending somehow reminds to the harmonies on Vital Remains "Dechristianize". Your solo is pretty tasty, a bit short though (sounds a bit like the one you did on the Roadrunner United record).

They're not signed yet, right? With that production, those guests, I'm pretty sure they will end up under a decent label.

And yeah, the songs aren't that bad, too!

the piano was performed on Korg Triton, but just as a midi controller... the sound is a Boesendorfer Grand (sp?) sample set i have that sounds really good.

From Synthogy Ivory, perhaps? My Dad has it and used the Boesendorfer on one of his most recent recordings, it's a kickass program!

now tell me James howcan you get a killer sound like that on the myspace player?
seriously did you do something special to upload this mp3?
oh the songs kicks ass anyway
well the myspace size limit for songs is 9mb, so i always convert at the best rate i can that will leave me with that size or just under it... the better the bit rate you upload to myspace, the better the stream will sound.

so essentially, the shorter the song, the higher the bit rate you can use to convert from wave to mp3, the better it sounds streaming on myspace.

alll of your newest mixes continue to blow me away. so much depth in the sound.

you really have a way of bringing across a sense of passion in the bands you mix.

bravo mr. Murphy
