you have to look at it in the proper context to get the correct answer.

while dying from hypothermia may seem fitting for a lead singer such as valfar, who sang songs about vikings, and things being cold, he died of hypothermia from just being stupid.

and while many will point to euronymous, he died whilst running away from his attacker like a coward. (according to stories)

a case can be made for dimebag since he was playing on stage at the time

brain cancer and black ice dont cut it.

jon nodveidt has a case since he released one last album then decided to end it all, perhaps because of the backlash of said album

then there's Dead, who blew his brains out with a shotgun, leaving a note to "excuse all the blood"

The answer is Dead.

I do agree that the context is critical. Dead's note really makes an argument for him but, if we are to count that, we would have to count the fact that Nodveidt reportedly did it as a part of a ritual to move himself further along his chosen path. If we associate "evil" with Metal, that is a pretty tight race. I would still go with Dead for adding the slightest touch of sadistic humor. If you can't get a good chuckle out of gore, you're not metal at all.

With all that being said, I personally don't think suicide is metal but there weren't any better choices.

The brain matter went into a stew. Pieces of the skull became necklaces. I saw one of them...assuming it was legit. It was worn by Vorphalack (Samael) who I had heard was one of the few recipients. Who knows.
