Full details about the Lemmy Forever ceremony and statue unveiling in Stoke-On-Trent on Friday, May 9 have been revealed, reports Planet Rock.

The ceremony will take place in Burslem town centre at approximately 4 PM, and Motörhead’s longest-serving guitarist, Phil Campbell, will attend to place a portion of Lemmy’s ashes in the lifelike statue of Ian Fraser Kilmister created by local sculptor and keen Motörhead aficionado, Andy Edwards.

Fans are invited to come early before the event to enjoy some pre-ceremonial Motörhead beverages at the various site-adjacent watering holes like the Old Post Office bar and Ale House. The Market Place Café will also have refreshments, including a special Motörhead roast of the day.

Other festivities at the ceremony include a biker’s corteo accompanying Lemmy’s ashes, various speakers, and a roaring 21-rev salute which will hit the skies in ceremonial reverence to the late-great Lemmy. Fans can also visit The Bare Walls Art Gallery where rarely seen Lemmy photos will be on display.

Further details can be found at Planet Rock.

Commemorate Motörhead Day on Thursday, May 8, at Rainbow Bar & Grill in West Hollywood, CA.

A message states: “We’re celebrating the 50th anniversary of Motörhead as Lemmy would have wanted, at Rainbow Bar & Grill in West Hollywood. The event, open to all, will have exclusive merch, giveaways, a performance by Murder One and more! Join us from 6 PM till late!”

Back in November 2016, Rainbow Bar & Grill dedicated its patio to Lemmy and re-named it “Lemmy’s Lounge.” It was a fitting gesture from the Rainbow, as when Lemmy wasn’t touring or recording, the majority of his waking hours were spent on said patio. There was already a life-size bronze statue immortalizing Lemmy at the Rainbow, which attracts fans from all over the world, and Lemmy’s Lounge allows hardcore fans and casual patrons alike to sample the wares and atmosphere that Lemmy loved so much.

On Friday, April 19, 2024, the ashes of Motörhead’s legendary frontman Lemmy Kilmister were enshrined at West Hollywood, California’s famous Rainbow Bar & Grill on the Sunset Strip.

Come celebrate Motörhead Day, Thursday, May 8 in the band’s 50th Anniversary year at Lemmy’s favorite hangout, the Rainbow. There will also be free Motörhead flash tattoos available on 8th May at The Estate Tattoo (813 Centennial St, Los Angeles, CA) from 4 PM to 7 PM, so make sure to get some fresh ink before heading to the Rainbow!
