Always Somewhere!
so as I've said I got my cassette player working in my truck and I've been listening to a lot of old stuff....for this mornings ride to work I threw in Ted Nugent- I've always liked his stuff and wondered what you all thought about his guitar works...underrated or overrated or neither just plain good riffs??? As the madman himself says "TURN IT UP, TURN IT UP MAKE IT LOUDER THAN HELL!" :hotjump:

HELL YES!!!!!!! Finally somebody is speakin' my language!!! I think Ted is highly underrated for his playing. Songs like STORMTROOPIN, GREAT WHITE BUFFALO, and so many more are chock full of riffs that crush. Why else would Pantera cover Cat Scratch Fever?!?!? IT SLAMS!!! Kittybeast, you're good people!

Some other great Nugent songs? WANGO TANGO, FREE FOR ALL, SCREAM DREAM, PARALYZED and soooooooooo many more.

Ted is also the greatest man alive.

Thank you for this thread.

TED

 Hell if I'd a known I would get this kind of reception.....I just noticed the Old school thread is 80's, thrash,etc.... For me born in mid sixties the later 70's stuff is MY OLD SCHOOL. I also threw in Cruisin' and Boozin' by Sammy Hagar and have loved him since the Montrose daze... Thanks you all are

Montrose-OH!!!!!!!!!! What an album! Montrose was an album that played all over my neighborhood.

You are right. Old School to me means late 70's early 80's also. :worship:

Nugent rocks! However I hate to hear him open his mouth.... all of his "I love my guns" crap is boring. In the words of Mr Zappa... "Shut Up 'N Play Yer Guitar". :)

Aha so you are my age, nudge, nudge :Spin:

I never really dug Ted. I have the Damn Yankees album which I like a lot, but never cared much for him as a solo artist although I like several of his songs.

I do like Sammy Hagar and Montrose, as well! But I like Sammy best when he is SOLO and not fronting my alltime favorite band.........which begs the question, KITTYBEAST....and this is crucial....so take your time if you need to....WHAT DO YOU THINK OF VAN HALEN?!?!?!?!?!?!

Well I've seen VH about 4 times and VanHager twice....to me Van Halen is VH with DLR on vox...there is no other Van Halen without him. when they took Hagar on vox they went too love and poppy, with too much keyboard. Classic VH just plain kicks ass! in the early 80's when VH would play, they were great live but Dave talked to much and often the band drank to much so some of the live performances I've seen were just mediocore. Van Hagar Live was great but I believe because they'd somewhat outgrown that "let's get a.f.u. and play" attitude. I know it's been said they'd never do a reunion but let's face it....This is THE band that would effin kill if they did! You can keep the Motley reunion....I want some old school VH LIVE! \m/  (did I pass the test?!?!?!?)
