The P/U's are NOT the same.

They are meant to do the same thing, but the tones they produce are different. Compare specs on both and you will see. The EMG ALX is a completly new design that EMG did just for Alexi. I own both the ABQ and JE clone and I can tell you they do not sound the same. IMO the ABQ gives a P/U more overall output and I don't just mean gain. The EQ of it is just different.
