I hope the topic title is appropriate, its the best I could come up with. Podgie gave me this idea in the "Last Album..." thread a few minutes ago. :p

When you hear a song, artist, album, WHATEVER, whats the first thing that comes to your mind?

Example :
When I hear "Black Clouds and Silver Linings" by Dream Theater, I think of summer, Battlefield 1943, inFAMOUS, and Burnout Paradise's long awaited island add-on.

When I hear "In the End" by Linkin Park, I think of moving from our house that I grew up in 6 years ago, and the sad times that ensued.

Anyone else wanna contribute? This could be an interesting thread.

When I hear My Dying Bride's The Dreadful Hours I think of my girlfriend (Come one, every couple has a 'song' ... or a whole album!)
When I hear Opeth's Watershed I think of train journeys...
When I hear Megadeth's Rust In Peace I think of what it was like when I first heard it, when I didn't know shit about metal, I remember why I love it so much.

That's all I've got, for now.

When you didn't know anything about metal? HA. You were born with the Encyclopaedia Metalllum etched into your brain. Have you forgotten? :p

When I hear Watershed, I think of my family's vacation last year. Listening to it in the car, while driving in the wilderness of Tennessee (then North Carolina) and thinking "OMG I need internet so I can talk to HER". :D

"Wish You Were Here" also reminds me of her. And Fallout 3 at 2am.

When I hear any old Linkin Park I remember being really young and going out for hours just skating around town to try and get away from all my personal shit

When I hear Metallica, I remember being even younger and listening to it through the wall when my brother listened to it and then I stole all his albums and claimed them for own and that was when I first really got into metal

The Machine Head song "Descend The Shades Of Night" is one of the only songs I physically cannot listen to all the way through, same with Evile's cover of Cemetery Gates - I just can't...

Hearing Pendulum/Korn/Limp Bizkit/Judas Priest reminds me of good times at Download Festival and makes me realise how much I love my friends

"Cowboys From Hell" reminds me that me and my pal Kris are fucking awesome and that nights at the Catty are fucking great regardless of how much complaining we may do

"Imperium" reminds me of why I love gigs, the build up near the middle reminds me of how crazy the crowd in Glasgow is at shows and that regardless of my injuries, pitting will always be far too much fun to resist

I'll add mare when I'm nae half zombied...

 Nope, it's true... Once upon a time, in a galaxy far, far away, I didn't know my death from my black and my thrash from my doom!

BLASPHEMY.

When I hear Cowboys From Hell, I think of Guitar Hero. same with Hangar 18.

Rainbow - Rising reminds me of when I was 5 running about the living room to the music haha.
Most Metallica reminds me of when I really got into metal. Death Magnetic reminds me of my first day of college (The album leaked and I heard it first before I went).
The Ocean - Precamberian reminds me of walking to school when it was fucking freezing.
Sleep's Holy Mountain reminds me of summer. As does Pearl Jam's Ten.

Any Korpiklaani song makes me think of this girl.
Rammstein Herzeleid album makes me think of when i was still living with my parents..I believe i got that record around that time.
Danko Jones - Wait A Minute makes me think of when me and my bro went to see Hypocrisy in Göteborg.

Thats what comes to mind.

When I hear Dry Your Eyes by The Streets, I think of the smell of glue
Skeletons of Society by Slayer makes me think of being about 13 again, nothing specific
Fade To Black reminds me of driving around twisting and turning mountain roads on holiday when I was younger

Can't really think of any more

 The smell of glue?

Infected Nation still makes me think "HOW THE FUCK IS THAT POSSIBLE?!?!" every time.

Cathedral - Midnight Mountain reminds me of driving my car about country lanes last summer and speeding past the police. With Cathedral on dead loud. I think they didn't pull me over people it must have been such a strange sight!

In Flames are a band that whilst I've only seen them three times, hold a lot of memories. "The Quiet Place" reminds me of Download 2008, me & my friend Kris sitting on the big hill at mainstage just screaming along to every word in the blazing sun & also the Taste Of Chaos show when they played it, he fought his way through the pit & picked me up so I could sing every single word, such a stoater. If I hear "Alias" or "Sober And Irrelevant" it reminds me of the start of 2010, when I did a lot of thinking, often on train journeys, these trails of thought led to major changes in my life & I am grateful for every single change I have made. "Take This Life" reminds me of getting battered around at the Taste Of Chaos show in late 2009 in some of the best pit's I've ever been in, it just got crazy, my friends kept trying to take me out thinking it was getting too mental but I had a great time. "Disconnected" is a memory of me & my cousin, absolutely blazing, in the center of a giant circle pit, dancing & screaming along, no one attempted to hit us as they usually would, they let us dance away, then the guitarist gave us a thumbs up for it! From the same Barrowlands show, "The Chosen Pessimist" was the opener, it was In Flames with the white cover in front of them, just white light with silhouttes, our group all had our arms around each other singing along to every word, drinks in hand & it was definately one of the best nights we've ever had.

There's my wee shpeel about In Flames done.

Hearing the self titled Black Sabbath album reminds me of Halloween. Why? I recieved my Black Box of Sabbath albums on Halloween, and listened to it for the first time whilst accompanying my family trick or treating.

4 Words (To Choke Upon) by Bullet For My Valentine reminds me of Madden 05 on the PS2 :p

"Sympyom of the Universe" and "Children of the Grave" by Black Sabbath, "Back at the Funny Farm" by Motorhead, and "Cry of the Banshee" by Brocas Helm all remind me of Brutal Legend.
