My accident report

So I was driving on the freeway a few days ago and some asshole was merging onto the freeway without yielding or speeding up, and cut off a red car which then proceeded to cut me off real bad forcing me to swerve into loose gravel at 63MPH losing control and slamming into the median.

The bad news is, my car's body is basically shot. The good news is, I didn't get a single bruise and the engine and mechanics still run flawlessly.

Now, I don't know if any of you are any good with cars, but tell me... should I spend the $2000 to repair my 96 mustang or sell it for about $1500 and buy a cheapo replacement?

Also, any car people able to gimme an estimate of what it'd cost to replace the full front end and one full side of the vehicle (parts only and parts plus labor)

Pics of my lovely car can be seen here:

Ouch, only 2,000 to fix that? I'd say go for the fix, screw cheapo replacements. =P
Good thing you're fine and dandy buddy.

It really sucks man... glad you're ok though

I don't know where you got that 2000$ estimate but you're busted up pretty bad... You have at least 500 dollars worth of windows alone... I still think you should repair but expect to pay....

500 in windows? Well that's Canadian currency right? So only $4 american?...

.... now I wanna watch Canadian Bacon

I found a Ford Contour for $2,200 and it runs great; I'm tempted to get that for now and just park the Mustang till I can come up with enough funds to repair it.

By the way, think the Insurance company would believe that the radio just kinda fell out in the accident and wasn't stolen?

good thing you're okay bud... I'd say repair it... because for $2000 thats a good price.

ouch! very harsh. Sounds like you are ok, though. Did you file an accident report/get that guy's license plate number for the cops? It's a mustang, I'd fix it if I were you.

...From the pictures, I thought your side window and your windshield were broken... windshields are expensive aren't they...??? I'm no car guy but still

if you're covered by any insurance or anything, usually you won't have to pay anymore then like, $200 for a windshield

My family just sold a 95 Mustang for $6700, so as long as the repairs dont drive your cost over that it's probably worth it to repair before selling or just repair and keep it.

EDIT:
Oooh wait, yours is a six cylinder... I take back what I said. If I were you I would buy something else with at least eight cylinders. :Spin:

Glad to hear you are okay...though your car looks like shit! 2K to repair all that damage....go for it. In Jan. a guy ran a red light going eastbound and I t-boned him in the intersection doing about 40. I have a ford explorer, he had a suburban....my repairs ran me $4500 and damage was limited to my front end. I'd do the repairs as long as the cars chasis wasnt' tweaked. Wishing you the best.
