My band from long ago - theR.A.C.E.

Speechless eh? :p Well it was quite an intense project so I will talk about it a little.

I just joined this band on guitar, didn't write much of the music, but added some influence once we started recording with various things. The main songwriters took out a loan and built a recording studio at our jam spot, that's where we tracked / mixed / mastered the whole thing. All the drums and bass are programmed and all the guitars where recorded direct (VG88).

The studio rig then doubled as a live rig. So we managed our own mix on stage and just handed a stereo pair to the soundguy. All the keys / synths / FX played back and we played along to a click track. Everything was controlled via MIDI including lights and patch changes on our guitar rigs.

Our guitar sounds where all VG-88 into active monitors. So with the synth pickup we could (and did) change tunings mid song and all kinds of other crazy effects. The high gain tones weren't as killer as a tube rig but it was worth it to have all the synth sounds / acoustic sims and tunings.

So a pretty unique project overall, unfortunately we only got to play a few shows as the whole thing imploded due to personality conflicts soon after we finished the album. Too bad but things worked out pretty well for everyone in the end so what can ya do. A cool experience nonetheless! :zombie:

PS the vocalist for this band is also doing vocals for the ENDITOL album.
