My Band

meh, you guys should practice just song writing in general. and the vox are kinda strange, i get the metalcore vibe /papa roach meets tagtgren kinda thing. you should try and create more depth with your guitars, and what i mean by that is, dont just play one note, try to add something else to it.

but overall, not bad if its one of your first bands.

you guys remind me alot of one of my old bands, prevail, we didnt have alot going on in our music, mainly because we were just exploring the whole song writing thing, and really wasnt familiar with what worked and what didnt.

but basically keep trying to write, and dont write a part for a song just for the sake of writing a part. if youre not happy enough with something, then dont leave it in.

All good points made by wbj08110.

You guys don't sound too bad, developing a good sound takes time and experience. The vocals sounds like they are reliant on effects though, and the whole thing just feels mixed up.

Also I'd like to note that escaping from standard chord progression and making the effort to step outside the regular pattern in guitar work from one line to the next is always a bonus. I think that's what wbj08110 was getting at earlier but I'm not 100% sure.

I am pretty easy going on newer acts personally (many people are very critical) so I won't really make any final judgements, but if you guys work on song writing and hopefully follow the metal branch further than the core part of your sound it could turn out. If you guys can get the song writng a bit tighter and work on making more naturally distinct vocals (less electric sounding, using more of your voice in the mix) it would help methinks.
