I was just about to type the good news when this got posted on blabbermouth     :waah: :waah: :waah: :waah:

A representative for Ritchie Blackmore's (DEEP PURPLE, RAINBOW) management company has contacted BLABBERMOUTH.NET to refute a rumor that RAINBOW are in talks about reforming for a series of live shows.

A report posted Wednesday (March 9) on The Dio Message Board indicated that Ronnie James Dio's wife Wendy's management company Niji Management is currently looking at getting the members of the group back together for a number of live appearances. The proposed lineup was said to include Dio (vocals), Ritchie Blackmore (guitar), Jimmy Bain (bass) and Vinny Appice (to replace the late Cozy Powell).

Commenting on the report, Blackmore's management representative Carole Stevens told BLABBERMOUTH.NET, "There is NO truth to this rumor whatsoever. Neither Ritchie Blackmore nor his management has had any contact with Wendy from Ronnie's management company.

"We wish Ronnie well on whatever projects he is doing. They do not involve Ritchie Blackmore.

"Ritchie is currently recording his sixth BLACKMORE'S NIGHT CD and then will commence touring with BLACKMORE'S NIGHT. This is a project he enjoys. He is musically stimulated with his performance, producing, composing and arranging of the BLACKMORE'S NIGHT music. He has found success and happiness — a rare combination. Why go backward when you can be successful and musically fulfilled moving forward?"

Ronnie already mentioned in an interview that it wasn't gonna happen because someone wanted too much money for it or something...that was three years ago, I wasn't counting on it anymore anyway.

Well, IMO any Rainbow album will totaly own!!! No actually, this time it was looking slightly legit than previous rumours of this. Ritchie mentioned he might want to do it lately. They are getting really old...Dio is a senior citzen now, I am not joking either. Blackmore turns 60 in 1 month and 4 days. I think it will happen soon. I disagree Urban...Blackmore and Dio is THE greatest combination ever, Blackmore can still write..ex.Fires At Midnight that album is a mellow Rainbow with a hot chick singing. Dio needs Ritchie right now, his last album was his worst, Goldy sucks balls too. It has to happen, It just has too!

same here, he has chats on his chatroom every friday. This is like talking to Jesus...well Ritchie Blackmore is God

I wouold love to hear Blackmore and Dio back together. Hell I would even gladly take Dio and Campell. Not that everything Dio made after Viv left was poor, but he never was able to come close to HD or TLiL, nor his Rainbow or early Sabbath work. Blackmore's Night (what I have heard of it) isn't bad, but it's a far cry from Dio era Rainbow.
I actually expected Ronnie and Yngwie to make a release together, but that never panned out either. They did play together in a few shows and also did an aerosmith cover together.
