I've been listening to them a shit load lately and thought i'd start a thread.
They never cease to amaze me, Aaron Stainthorpe's clean vocals are almost god like.

now discuss....

i loathe his clean vocals. the man cannot fucking sing and should shut the fuuuuuuck up and stick with the panzer vocals. sounds whiny as shit.

now "god is alone" - "symphonaire infernus et spera empyrium"!!! - "as the flower withers"!! - "the thrash of naked limbs" - "i am the bloody earth" and to a lesser extent (because of the god damn cleans) "turn loose the swans" -- fucking classic. killer stuff.

The only ones I have are "Turn Loose the Swans" and the live one. I've tried, but I can't really get into them all that much. The songs I've heard from "The Angel..." were pretty good, but the only other album I'm remotely interested in hearing by them is "123455678% Penis" or whatever.

Angel & The Dark River for me, unlike most people here I prefer the clean vocals, and the dark and brooding atmosphere always erases any optimistic thoughts I might have before listening to it...

mind you, they're all in the pretty good to pretty awesome range so don't let this arrangement fool you.

I really don't know what the big shit is about this band. Early Anathema is so much better.

I did dig a few songs off 38048 complete and some off TLATEOTW. And Fallen Angel of Lke Gods of the Sun is a good un'.

Overall, though, they just aren't good enough to spend money on or even listen to.
