Hello!! :D

I'm really glad to tell you all I am probably one of the youngest people on this forum that has produced an international release (I'm 19).
It's an "Old School" (?) Thrash metal band from Spain called Aggression and the album went on sale about 2 weeks ago through XtreemMusic (spanish label).
I'm really bad describing how does a band sound, so I've uploaded some mp3 to my site and linked them with a flash mp3 player

The artwork was done by Ed Repka, and it's a bit too 80s for my taste to be honest

I hope you guys like my job (Mix and Mastering, tracking took place at other studio with other engineer), I'd like to see some comments if possible on the critical side, so I can actually learn more from you guys!

Cheers!!

Congrats man :)

I think you did a stellar job! So you can easily ignore my nitpicking if you want ;) I think the drumsound is really cool but i do think it doesn't really suite the style of music. It sounds a little too fat, i should've taking a little more transparent/rawer sound and taken a more mid/high pitched snare instead of this one. I think this music also suits a more grinding bassguitar (although some bassplayers are against that :ill) guitars are very nice!

Furthermore i do like the cheesy artwork actually :) It's cool

im also really liking the guitars. pretty sweet riffs! not liking the vocalist so much though...

drums kinda give it a new edge to that kind of style i dig it dude!

Ah we talked about them before! Too trashy for me as well, but the mix is really awesome.

Didn't know you're 19 btw I thought you were way older!

They like Violence! :D
It sounds pretty good for the style ;) good job

I'm in friends with people at Xtreem so I'd try to see them live whenever they play around here

I really like this man. It sounds kind of like a modern take on an old school vibe (production wise).

The guitar sound is very unique...it almost sounds like it is a cocked wah a little...but I think it sounds WICKED. It kind of has this shimmy sound to it like a glassy/digital (not in a bad way) type of sound, that I think is great with these kind of riffs. There is a lot of music like this that was produced in the 80's and it didn't sound this fat.

The drum sound is wicked I think. It sits nicely in the style...and I think it is great to have music like this with some huge production.

Good job man! I love it!

Thanks for the replies! :D

About the drums: I wanted to have this kind of fat sound, even when the band didn't want to. They wanted a thinner sound, but when they listened to the final master they absolutely loved it. :D
About the guitars: Quadtracked. Jackson USA Soloist SL-1, awesome guitar! (SD JB in bridge). DI thru SoloC>8505>Catharsis' "2off-preshigh.wav"> C4 (modified Sneap preset) > Renaissance EQ (love it!)
The bass player played with fingers and the grindy sound wasn't so great, in addition, the band asked me for a crunchy sound, low gain but dirty
This singer has a very unique style. I still don't like some of his shouts, but I got used to him during the whole production...

Best wishes! :headbang:

I love the artwork...looks like an 80ies b-movie poster....that's meant positive, lol :)
cool shit overall!
drums sound good, but don't really fit the style (IMO), I really don't like the guitarsound, but it does fit the style...all just a matter of taste, you really did a good job

19? I thought you were 30 or something

The song feels a little too fast for the guitar player. Reminds me of some Mors principium songs.. the drums sound kinda like MPE too!

Great work men. But I agree with what has already been said, the drums sounds too "modern" for this oldschool music. The guitars sounds great but a little over gained. But it´s a great mix and a great job.

I dig it! Artwork also. Very cheesy, but well executed. You got great tone out from SoloC/8505. Very good and punchy mix, good work man!
