My first REAL Tubescreamer production

Hey man, sounds fantastic, especially the drums (especially the snare holy shit!!). The guitars are a bit...I dunno, dirty and slightly metallic would be the best way I could describe it; both the Krank and Recto (especially if its a 3-channel and you used the red channel) are very prone to that sound, so I'm not surprised, though I know it's not all they're capable of. Also, I hear the attack of the bass, but I really don't feel it at all; seems like it needs a lot more in the upper lows/low-mids to fill out the mix down there, cuz it's feeling a bit thin (and would make the guitars sound better to me, I think). Either way, great job dude, and I can't stress enough how much I love the drums! :worship: What was the mic'ing setup?

Thanks for your input. It was a Single Rectifier. Maybe the harsh sound is from the tube screamer...(tone was at 12 o´clock).
I agree with the bass. I had it in my first mix with much more balls in the low end but the band really wanted to hear it rather than feel it. So I took away a lot of low end and added the "clickyness", which the band liked....

The snare is triggered with a sample I made of my old TAMA steel snare a while ago. Bass Drum is also triggered from my pdp set.
The toms were miced with MD 421s and remained natural (without samples) in the mix. It was a real big drum set with 5 toms and millions of cymbals.
I just used two overheads (AT pro 37r) and miced the hi-hat and ride separately.

Ugghh, no wonder, I hate the Single Rec :erk: The band sound like a bunch of 'tards if they want the bass castrated; maybe leave in the clickiness (which I don't mind) but also bring back some of the body?
