My first RECTO tone test!!

Of course this got my attention :D Sounds pretty good dude, super ballsy, but also super muffled; what cab were you using? Either way, definitely get closer to the dustcap, and from the sound of it up the presence a bit, though don't quote me on that - what were your settings?

im using the marshall 1960av cab(me needs the mesa os). it is pretty damn muffled isnt it? i had a 57 at the edge of the bottom left speaker cone.

guitars with emg81 9v.
settings were:
clockwise
pres:11ish
bass:11ish
gain:1ish
treble:1:30ish
mids:10ish

maxon:

od:7
tone:11
balance:11

Eh, I'd advise going much closer to the dustcap before you start upping the knobs; basically, I've found the best way is to put the mic around 50% on/50% off the dustcap (the specifics aren't too important at this point though), and then do all your tweaking with the amp settings, cuz it makes the real difference IMO! Having never played a 3-channel (or a Triple) I can't be certain that they behave similarly to mine, but I know I used to have the treble around where you do, but am much happier with it at ~11:30! (and the presence at 12, though again this is on my 2 ch. Dual) Was this the orange or red channel, btw?

amp was on the red channel.

i definitely have been playing with the pres and treb nobs lately. ill give those settings a go as soon as i have time to mic it up again.

thanks a bunch for the input fellas!

Ooh, if you're on the red channel on a 3 ch., I've heard it's better to keep the pres. knob down around 9:00, but of course go with what sounds best! And FYI, in case you didn't know, the ONLY difference between the orange and red channels (at least in modern mode) is how aggressive the presence knob is! (much more so on the red, naturally)
