I'm growing my hair at the moment, much to the dismay of my parents and friends!! One of my female friends claims that she will cut it herself if it gets too bad!
At the moment it is still damn short (for my liking, anyway). It barely comes down to my ears, but it'll get there! How long do you think it will take until it gets to say shoulder length??

I used to have hair almost to my ass, then i shaved it.
To get the hair long you just have to ride out that boofhead look phase, there is no other way to get past it
then comes the not quite long enough to tie back and hang in your eyes all the time phase.
Then finally its long enough to hang down your back and it just gets longer and longer , awesome!!!!
I remember surfing when i first cut it, i was so used to giving my head a huge flick everytime i came up from a duckdive, i flicked and almost broke my neck because i didn't have and hair to flick.
Anyway, some girls profer it shorter and some like it long, i remember this girl used to chase me all the time when i had long hair then as soon as i cut it she was not interested at all. And as soon as it was cut all these new girls came onto the scene.
But if its long and you do want to score, keep it clean and brushed !!!!

I've been growing mine since November (when I had it cust drastically short cos I was best man at my brother's wedding), and the plan is to return to my high school length in a vain attempt to recapture my youth

Ahhh I went through all those stages. I hated them, but now I'm happy, my hair is about a third of the way down my back so far and it's looking good.
I might take up your advice on the clean and brushed bit I think Torana hahaha... becase my hair is usually dirty and scraggy haha.

I used to have it long. The only problem is that my hair has really wide curls, so it normally ends up being as wide as it is long. Not a good look.
And when I first went job hunting I was looking for an engineering job, so you can imagine how well it went down with the suited up fogeys (says he adjusting his tie).
So for now I wear a nice, low maintenance No 2.

I had my tresses hacked off in 94, and have gone for a respectable "short back and sides" look ever since. Boring, but low maintenance.
It'd be a different story if my hair would only grow *straight* like a normal person's. It gets to a certain length (usually just above my shoulders), then starts to curl up and becomes uncombable.

I cut mine in March 97 as soon as I got to the UK, as nobody knew me there and I figured that I could do what I wanted without anyone commenting. I knew I'd cop flak if I did it at home. Cut it up to my ears, and by the year's end was shoulder length again. Now it's half way down my back, and I have no intention of cutting it in the next couple of years. Yeah the in-between stage where it's not short but not long enough to tie back really does suck arse. It's worth going through though!

You shoulda seen my hair in the "boofhead" stage..holy fuck it was bad. Kem can tell ya all how funny I looked. But now its past shoulder length but still not long enough damn it!
I got that bloody wide hair as well heh. Esp after I brush it heaps it just puffs out the back. Its also kinda wavy and when its wet my hair grows an extra 5 cm or something..shows you how puffy it gets

Haha yes. That was some boofy hair he had. I think there's even a photo around to attest to the boofiness. It surpassed all known levels of boofiness

A bloke at work happens to be the uncle of a girl who was in my year at school, and he was watching the video from the Bremer State High School 1993 formal.
The only two things I remember doing (OK, three if you count standing at the window looking out onto the city pretending to brood, and even four if you count me rewriting a guy's speech which he didn't end up using) are sucking helium from a balloon so I could talk funny, and giving my opinion on the whole night so far - speeches etc, which incidentally happened to be a direct quote from some geezer on the "12 Wasted Years" video - "very loud, very raw, raucous, completely over the top actually", and both of these moments appeared on the video. Yes, I was even more of a loser back then than I am now!
Anyway, I mention this because the main reason I didn't buy this video (and the main reason I refused to let the bloke from work lend me the tape) is that I hate seeing myself on video, and because I had awful hair back then - long & curly & stuff... and this is a hair thread, so there you go!

I actually had a full-on blonde streaked 80s mullet happening at one stage! Man, wasn't THAT a bitch to grow out! It was one of those Pseudo Echo ones where the sides were REALLY short (Remember Brian Canham's hair cut around the Love An Adventure era? Like that!) so that annoyed me like nothing else just as it was getting past my ears!
