i haven't heard everything they have done.

and i know alot of people i have met who love them praise their innovative workings of blues songs or the proto-metal stuf, etc. etc.

but honestly to me, and probably only me, nothing they did has matched up to the simple amazingness of "the battle of evermore."

sayin

Achilles Last Stand. Best.

Although I would be hard pressed to find even a remotely less than simply amazing song from their first 6 albums.

NAD: That's one of the few Zeppelin songs that truly deserves the words "heavy fuckin' metal" IMO...nothing will change my opinion that they're overrated, but when Page and Bonzo were at the peak of their powers as they were on that epic, they were unstoppable.

Personally, my all time favorite bandand two of my favorite songs already mentioned. However, I would point you all at the most relaxing song of all time, The Rain Song. It's awesome.

I think you have to view them in context, i.e., the seventies.

my fave zep song of all time is Over the Hills and Far Away.

Many have I loved
Many times been bitten
Many times I've gazed
Along the open road

Many times I've lied
Many times I've listened
Many times I've wondered
How much there is to know

Many dreams come true
And some have silver linings
I live for my dream
And a pocketful of gold

Mellow is the man
Who knows what he's been missing
Many many men
Can't see the open road

Many is a word
That only leaves you guessing
Guessing 'bout a thing
You really ought to know

other than that, I'm not much of a fan.
