Just a reminder for y'all, my big radio debut is TOMORROW(Friday, the 24th) from 3:00pm to 6:00pm, US Pacific Time!!! Since no one else here lives near San Diego, you can listen online at: http://www.palomar.edu/kksm . WARNING: THIS IS A COLLEGE STATION, SO MOST OF WHAT I HAVE TO PLAY IS SHITTY ALTERNATIVE, EMO, SINGER/SONGWRITER FOLK OR POP/PUNK. But! 4 times an hour, i will get to play whatever the hell I want, so long as it's not too extreme(so no extreme thrash, early death and black metal or Children of Bodom... ). And since it's a 3 hour show, that's 12 jock choices a show. I still get to play traditional metal, non-hardcore punk, slower power metal, slower and more melodic thrash metal and classic rock, so it's not too bad of a loss, i just wish i could let loose and play heavier, faster stuff, but i'll be able if i get a specialty show in the fall.
I'm not 100% sure yet, but these are the songs i plan to play as my jock choices, as of now:

Judas Priest-“The Hellion/Electric Eye”

Black Sabbath-“Symptom of the Universe”

Aerosmith-“Let the Music Do the Talking”

Queensryche-"Eyes of a Stranger"

Wolf-“Evil Star”

Motorhead-“Killed By Death”

Deep Purple-“Bad Attitude”

Ted Nugent-“Weekend Warriors”

Misfits-“Hollywood Babylon”

Pat Travers Band-“Snortin’ Whiskey”

Overkill-“New Machine”

Anthrax-“Blood”

And i'll see you on the radio! :D

Nice setlist. Sorry you have to play the other crap, I hope you have a walkman with you :D

That reminds me when I went to play metal at my friend Darren's radio show. Once we had the guys from another station asking for music. They were hearing our show while playing theirs!

Next time try this (all 2005 material):

Bruce Dickinson - 'Soul Intruder'
Masterplan - 'Crimson Raider'
Hammerfall - 'Fury Of The Wild'
Sabaton - 'Counterstrike'
Judas Priest - 'Hellrider'
Force Of Evil - 'Cabrini Green'
Cryonic Temple - 'Beast Slayer'
Astral Doors - 'Bride Of Christ'
Dream Theater - 'Panic Attack'
Freedom Call - 'Mother Earth'
Demons & Wizards - 'Terror Train'
Candlemass - 'Seven Silver Keys'

Speaking of Radio...
I was offered the opportunity to do a show on the radio, on a weekly basis...
I just have to pay some fees to register, ect & my uncle will teach me to run the gear... It's tempting just for fun, it's just finding the time between, studying for some tests, cahnging job roles, three kids, ect. I'm tempted.

whew! Show number 1 is now in the books! I made a few mistakes, but hey, it's my first show, it's to be expected. Some pretty funny moments happened, if anyone heard the whole thing. So, how was I? How did I sound?

btw, Sixx, go for it! The biggest rush you'll ever get. it's a rush i live for, you'll love it.

Yeh, what happened was during my third song, the place all of a sudden rumbled and shook HARD. I mean, it kinda freaked me out. All of a udden, i see my bosses Zeb and Paul, looking like they just saw a ghost, coming in, saying "Earthquake! earthquake! earthquake!!" Paul tells me to interrupt the song so we can all get on the mic and talk about it, and we did. We were talking about it under the impression that it was an earthquake, then Zeb comes back, from going outside and says "update: it was just dynamite."

They're building a new Science building for the college right next to the studio,so that explains that. And apparently, the police was actually supposed to inform us and escort us out of the area, because we were actually in danger, but that never happened. And guess what? Every Friday at 3:30pm, for the next 5 weeks, there will be dynamite explosions. Convieniently, when I'M on the air!

It made for some GREAT radio, though!

Alright, show number 2 is coming up! This is the show before the 4th of July, so i thought i'd dedicate my first two picks to the good ol' US of A. Here's how the jock choices look like thus far:

-Iced Earth-“Star Spangled Banner/Declaration Day”
-Lizzy Borden-“American Metal”

-Junkies and Theives-“I Got the Matches”(a great local band. If you're into Aerosmith, AC/DC, Black Crowes, Guns n' Roses and/or Tesla, you'll dig these guys)
-WASP-“School Daze”

-Ozzy Osboune-“Secret Loser”
-Iron Maiden-“Infinite Dreams”

-Diamond Head-"Am I Evil?"
-Cro-Mags-“We Gotta Know”

-Testament-“Practice What You Preach”
-Armored Saint-“You’re Never Alone”

-Exciter-"Rising of the Dead"
-Slayer-“Mandatory Suicide"

check me out at www.palomar.edu/kksm Friday from 3pm to 6pm!!!

haha i had a bit of an arguement with JAT about whether they sounded a lot like ACDC or not.....i think they do, but they say they only sound a little bit like them. Oh well, they're good nonetheless, so check them out if you havent!

Some other considerations for the show:

Grand Funk - 'We Are An American Band'
Alice Cooper - 'Lost In America'
Wolf - 'American Storm'
Heavens Gate - 'America'
Saxon - 'Sailing To America'
Def Leppard - 'Hello America'

"Hello America" was actually my first choice for weeks, but then i stumbled onto that awesome Lizzy Borden song. I dunno, we'll once i go on the air, what song i'll play. I'm definitely starting with the Iced Earth song, it's too perfect. It's about July 4th, and it starts with the Star Spangled Banner! That's too good NOT to use!

Don't worry, i hear the AC/DC vibe, too, though i think they sound more like Black Crowes or Tesla, but AC/DC, Gn'R and Aerosmith is definitely in their sound too.

Either way, they're a very cool band, and i'm gonna play them. I'm also gonna plug the show they got that night, if i'm allowed too, and then afterwards, GO to that show and finally meet the bastards.

Dynamite Nick Lane for President :hotjump:

a song that fits ya would be "dynamite" from the Scorpions !!
