I've just uploaded two songs and I would like to hear what you think of them. It's some sort of gothenburg metal (In flames/ At the gates). I recorded this songs so I could burn them on Cd's and give them to my bandmates, so they could learn them. There is only guitars and the simplest drums ever, so you should judge them from the song structure and not from the quality or drum programming. :) And the guitar solos are not played very well. I don't think the solos are that important when it's just for your bandmates...
But besides all that, I think the songs are pretty good. Please tell me what you think...

I could only listen to the second one....good riffing...I like the harmonies....want to hear a full band do this....I hope you don't use the high pitched post hardcore vocals so common from the swedish sound recently....I say go more on the Amon Amarth side vocally...

listened to them....some really awesome riffing....but the drums are fucking horrible...really repetitive and annoying and way too loud. Both the songs are really repitive though because of the drums. Try slowing down more often, like in the first song at at aroudn 3 mins. Basically i'm saying you need more dynamics, the guitar work is fine...just the drums which are annoying as hell...the solos don't really fit in that well

production-wise: drums are way too loud, as well as the lead guitar....try adding some more reverb too.

overall, they're both good...would really be interesting to see a full band demo.

arsghh...got a headache now from those god damn drums.

Thanks... :) but you should not judge the song from the drums. This is not some demo that I would send out to record companies or magazines. The songs are for my bandmates so they can learn them. The drums are just there to be a sort of metronome. I usualy program four bars with drums then copy and past the throughout the song. It's the drummers job to make good drums/fills. :) And we don't have a drummer at the moment...

I like your picking style ALOT. Just, as I already stated, don't go down "In Flames" like most other swedish bands recently (Soilwork, Haunted, etc etc) and use almost hardcore vox.`..

Thanks. I'm not sure what you mean by "hardcore vox", but I was planning on some "sounding-like-old-In-Flames" type of vocal. You know, standard melodic death metal vocal. If there is something called that...
And as I said earlier, we don't have a singer. and they are not easy to find, so I'll guess we have to take what we can find...

I mean the new wave of "recent in flames albums+soilowrk vocals= every american band that wishes they were swedish"...I say go with the older style, more brutal vox....it'll stand out more now that the other style is so popular

Actually I don't have anything against the vocals on the newest In Flames/Soilwork album, but I don't like the fact that they use clean vocals on every f%#@ing chorus. It would have been great on a song or two, but not all of them.

And as I said; we take the vocals we can get...
