When I heard DT was including a song on the new album named "Blind at Heart" it inspired me to write a poem based on the title. Comments are welcome.
Blind at Heart
The trials of a heartless monster
Are yours to bear
If a little worse for wear
Inside me, is a raging nucleus ignorant of the price
Of a self-serving paradise
Rife with pain and emotional sacrifice
D you trip a blind man
Laughing as he falls to the ground?
Or do you offer a hand instead?
A comforting presence
For a lost and wounded
enemy to himself
In my dreams I hold up my own soul
To the naked eye
I only see loathing
And wonder why
I am blind at heart
Blind at Heart
The trials of a heartless monster
Are yours to bear
If a little worse for wear
Inside me, is a raging nucleus ignorant of the price
Of a self-serving paradise
Rife with pain and emotional sacrifice
D you trip a blind man
Laughing as he falls to the ground?
Or do you offer a hand instead?
A comforting presence
For a lost and wounded
enemy to himself
In my dreams I hold up my own soul
To the naked eye
I only see loathing
And wonder why
I am blind at heart
