myspace.com help

I learned from JonnyD that you should always use a black background and then choose other colors to go on top of the black.

Yeah right I also want to do that but HOW? That damn website has no tools that I can find (even Geocities is more user friendly).

go to my site... http://www.myspace.com/metalkittybeast on the right side you will see a I used thomas v. editor click on that link. Then you choose your background color or picture then choose the color of your headers, etc. etc. etc. I too had to seek a lot of help cuz it is quite confusing, but once you have it quite easy....much like algebra.

I didn't want to waste my time with endless noodling, especially since I'm totally untalented when it comes to visual desing.
So I left it as is, added the info and that's it.
Anyway, all the metal band pages are black \m/ :D and why wouldn't mine be different? ;)

I can't tell you "how" to do it, I have no experience in using Myspace. But I do design websites for a living. Using a black background makes a ton of difference, spices things up right nice. Then use white text with lighter colored highlights, no darker than red. An orangish-yellow works good on black (like the links on UMOS), also sky blue on black looks like electric blue. Don't use a background image unless it's faded way back in the background. It's too hard to read text that are imposed over images.

how do I make it less vanilla?
add a background pic or something?
Help me out here...
Sixx

what's "less Vanilla"?
it's CSS code to put a design on myspace.
try this code (go to edit profile/safe mode-put the following to the begining of "about me" section)

-------under this line --------
<style type="text/css"> body{background-color: 000000; background-image:url("--your desired img URL"); background-attachment:fixed; background-position: 0% 0%; background-repeat:no-repeat; } </style>
----------- ---------------

this is for black background, fixed background image, image position starts from 0% from the left and top edge of the window (of your browser), no image repeat.
it varies according to how you want to put your background image...
hope it helps, and if it doesn't work, please let me know..
