We are almost there to complete the recording of all our 9 songs for our debut album. Here are my ways of recording the instruments:

- the drums r tracked individually. Kick, Snare, Tom 1, Tom 2, Floor tom, Overheads (X 2) and Hi-hat.
- Guitars r DI-ed, including bass. (I have multiple tracks for these instruments on every song)
- of course, i have the vocals too.

Im looking for any of ur recommendations to which studio i can go to have a deal? Our only problem is location, we're on a very tight budget to travel oversea. we only saving $$ for paying the mastering. :erk:

Well why don't you do what a lot of people on here do? Upload the tracks for one of the songs, let everyone have a go at mixing it, and whoever's mix you like the most, they do the album for you?

Edit: Damn Lasse, give the rest of a chance to get some dough for mixing lol. ;)

thts wat im planning to do.. upload all the raw tracks to hear YOUR mastering samples. Its just dat im afraid in the end, i'll get cheated. I'll upload my tracks either tonite or tomorrow. Which hosting site is best for u guys to download? i only have a rapidshare account at the moment.

Try yousendit.com. And all in one rar file or a couple of rar files max if possible.
EDIT: forget yousendit, you can only upload files up to 100mb a file

What do you mean by cheated? If you only upload one track, and we all try and mix it, then you have whoever you choose do the rest of the album it should be fine. If you're worried about money, then I'm sure a lot of guys would be ok with mixing the album and sending it to you, and have you send the money afterwards.

Speak only for yourself, bro. I'd even be careful with people I know personally, let alone with a forum n00b who can't even put up enough effort to spell correctly ...

Half up-front, then the client gets snippets of tracks with beeps in them and then the other half is due before getting the full wav files. Anything else will get you fucked down the line!

I have tracked all the drum parts thru a Korg D1600MK. They r all in .wav format. Im using Samson drum mic kit (used on kicks and overheads), sm57 for the snare and floor tom; and ddrumtriggers for the rack toms. What i did mostly was blending some of this with samples provided here in the forum or with other drum programmes.

Guitars were re-amped thru Revalver mkiii. The bass were re-amped using IKmultimedia AmpegSVX.
Vocals we havent done it it yet. I only have the AT2020, not sure if it'll do any good for death metal vocal style for u guys, or otherwise i have to buy a new one. But what i have done before was, the vocal using AT2020 was connected to a line6 ux2, and i would only take the DI of it. Then used some plugins to be added on the vocals. I dont have proper mic preamps yet.

well, i think I do need to prepare more things to get good tones before giving u guys samples of my raw tracks. However, im still gonna let u guys check out my work!

i dunno if u understand wat im saying here, but this is wat i normally do to make my demos sound good.
sorry for my bad english. \m/

yeah, Iwas just thinking about the mastering...no time to mix anything till march/april 09.

though I'mgetting the impression that the terms Mixing/Mastering are being misunderstood again

Yeah, I was thinking of the more amateur cats in here like myself who would be doing it more for experience and the creditation, than for the actual cash. But yeah, you're completely right in saying that.

How did you manage to record the drums with no actual preamps - or did you do them at another studio?
