Hi.
Can anyone help me out on how should I equalize my amp to get a sound similar to that of SymX's Inferno?

I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks :)

This should be in Musician's Corner (thats why we have a seperate forum for it).

What's your gear setup like right now? (include amp, any effects, guitar, and pickups).

Umm..

Ibanez S470QS with AH1, AS1, and AH2.
Neck and bridge are humbuckers, and the middle pickup is a single coil.
Line 6 Spider II head and cab.

hmm, I'm not really familiar with Ibanez humbuckers, what the tonal properties are...with the spider you should be able to get a decently close sound using the 1st or 2nd rectifier setting...make sure you have the presence boost on and use a good amount of treble...don't turn the bass TOO high (since it is a Mesa sim after all, Mesa's don't need the bass turned up much higher than 3 most of the time) and I'd cut the mids too. That should get you a close setting for the rhythm sound in the intro to Inferno.

Oh and don't crank the gain. I'd put it between 6 and 7.

I agree with the gain, you want to be able to hear whay your playing hehe

Thanks for the tips guys.

It can't sound any better. ;)

By the way, my artificial harmonics don't sound very good, and I was planning on buying some new pickups. Which do you think have enough scream for what I am looking for?

I'm an advocate of EMG 81's if you're strictly a metal player (its what I use). They will definately turn your tone into a raging beast, but it completely overrides the natural tone of your guitar, so a lot of guys don't like em for that reason. If you would like a more natural, organic tone, go for some sort of Dimarzio. Look at their site, they have very detailed descriptions of each pickup.
