Long-running Oakland, California-based industrial/alternative/metal pioneers NEUROSIS will enter Electrical Audio Studio again with producer Steve Albini on December 27 to record a brand new album, the follow-up to 2012's "Honor Found In Decay". In other news, NEUROSIS has announced more live shows in 2016. This follows shortly after the recent announcement regarding the band's very special 30th-anniversary performances at Roadburn festival in The Netherlands and in San Francisco. For a list of dates, go to this location. A year ago, NEUROSIS's Scott Kelly spoke about the band's plans for its next studio CD. He said: "We're going to try to get a new record out quicker than the last one. The last one took five years to get out because of, you know, basically, because of personal shit that came up and interrupted the process. We're hoping to turn one around in a more reasonable time and just keep gigging." "Honor Found In Decay" sold around 1,800 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 9 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200. "Honor Found In Decay" was released in North America in October 2012 through NEUROSIS' own Neurot Recordings. NEUROSIS forged the songs on "Honor Found In Decay" with the revered Steve Albini, marking their fifth collaboration with the engineer in their longstanding relationship. Their monolithic sound captured at Electrical Audio studios in Chicago, the seven tracks were then mastered by John Golden at Golden Mastering in Ventura, California.
