Nevermore Remaster First 3 Albums

EOR is fucking MAGNIFICENT. (the remix, and yes.. andy did a beautiful job.. the orig retail mix was so fucking terrible I thought I bought a bootleg).

In my whip I roll with a 12+1 disc changer, and I have her loaded right now with ALL nev and most In Flames and heartwork.

When EOR comes on, I begin to rage. Some of Jeff's finest riffing, and some of nevs best songwriting are found on that album.

I wish they'd remaster DNB too. that cd has some weird low end that farts out most of the stereos i've played it in. An Andy Sneap remix of the sef-titled album would be sweet too, I''l just put that one on my wish list for a rainy day.

:kickass:

What's up with this remastering thing? Am I the only one who seriously dislikes remasters? I've never heard a remaster that sounds "better" to me then the original. Throwing on some extra compression and EQ seems like a cheap attempt to make some money.

There's also the ethical side of things, a finished album to me is a piece of art. An entity of creativity by the musicians, writers, producer.... everyone who has helped to make the album to what it is, including mastering! You don't throw some new paint on an old Van Gogh painting thinking: "aah those colours are a bit on the dark side in these modern times, let's make them brighter!". I also think it's disrespectful to the guy who did the original mastering.

You've obviously not compared the original Enemies Of Reality, to the Remastered one.
