hey all you people, im new to this forum, and almost as new to metal, and wondered if any of you could recomend some bands????

the best way to get into metal stuff is through old bands: old Metallica, Testament, Kreator, Pantera, Black Sabbath, Exodus, et cetera...

Get the classics by these bands and then go from there.

I second that. Once you know the old sound its up to you do decide what kind of metal fits for you by checking out bands. When I listened to brutal vocs for the first time I was shocked and now opeth and DT are 2 of my favorite bands.

ta, iv been listening to mostly slayer, and cradle of filth, and a little cannable corpse, and lovin it, just wasnt sure wot else i may like...but now i have some ideas, thanks

Nuclear Assault
D.R.I. (Crossover album to Thrash Zone album)
Slayer (everything up to Seasons/Abyss and probably Divine Intervention)

Megadeth (Peace Sells and R.I.P)
Metallica (Kill Em All, Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets.. perhaps And Justice for ALL and Black album as well though im not a big fan of those 2)
