Influential Welsh heavy rockers BUDGIE's 197479 period is examined in a new, 400-page book, "In Pecking Order: Budgie 197479". During the period, BUDGIE released "In For The Kill" (1974) and "Bandolier" (1975) for MCA, and "If I Were Brittania I'd Waive The Rules" (1976) and "Impeckable" (1978) for A&M. VAN HALEN, METALLICA and IRON MAIDEN covered tracks included on "In For The Kill", released 40 years ago this month, and "Bandolier". The book features interviews with guitarist Tony Bourge (who bowed out after "Impeckable"), bass player, singer and bandleader Burke Shelley, drummers Pete Boot and Steve Williams, and touring guitarist Myf Isaac. Manager Graham Moloney and Canadian Bob Leth (who engineered "Impeckable") add spice and humor to the telling of the story of a period that featured lineup changes aplenty and the spreading of wings into North America.
