I'm just getting started on a mix for one of the better local bands on my area... and I'm realizing more and more that I have no idea what goes into a good bass tone. =( Any tips, fellas?

Is that a real bass? It sounds more like software to me.
In your case I'd take away some of the mids in that bass.
Overall I really like this mix so far.

bass is, quite obviously, programmed... there's not really much I can do about that. I'll try pulling down some mids

Sounds cool man! What did you use amp-wise for the guitars? Nice guitar tone, very like Aborted. Did you side chain the rhythm guitars and kick to a comp? Sounds incredibly tight

The amps, right now, are 7170(Right) and 8505(Left), both boosted with Solo C, but I'll possibly end up reamping with a Ts9 +6505 + Mesa OS combination. I'm on the road back to NY, right now, so I'm not 100% on that one.
